MAY SPEAKER CONRAD BOMAN

ADD SOME SALT TO YOUR LIFE |
|
| |
This month, we will be exploring the fly fishing
opportunities of the briny deep, courtesy of our speaker,
Conway Bowman.
His presentation will cover
“Mako Sharks, Redfish, and Tarpon – My Favorite Fish”. Conway Bowman is the
owner/operator of Bowman Blue water and a native San Diegan. While he began
fl y fishing in Idaho at eight in freshwater, he has since expanded his
fishing species to include some of the denizens of the deep. He has
extensive saltwater experience including fishing the Pacific off San Diego
as well as off Baja California plus inshore and blue water up and down the
West Coast. He has also hosted ESPN’s “In Search of Flywater” television
show. Conway is the current IGFA world record holder of Redfi sh on 10 kg
tippet.
A 41.65 POUND BULL
Conway will be tying some his more effective saltwater flies
prior to the presentation, atabout 6:00pm.While most of us are used to
fishing the freshwater mountain streams and lakes, this promises to be a new
and exciting presentation. After all, it’s not often you can pursue a fish
that can actually eat you. It should prove to both informative and an
exciting presentation. So come on out to our May meeting (don’t forget we
are having a barbecue and “White elephant” sale) and put some salt back in
your diet.
