HOLIDAY BANQUET
Date: Wednesday, 6 December 2006
Place: The Old Spaghetti Factory
Time: 5:30 PM Happy Hour
7:00 PM Dinner Seating, Auctions and Raffles
That’s right, the Holiday Banquet is less than a month away!
Hopefully you have marked your calendar and plan to attend. If you have not
yet purchased your tickets, please do so as soon a possible.
Dave Beaton
will be selling tickets at the
November 15th meeting. The cost of the tickets remains the same as last
year, $15.00 in advance or $20.00 at the banquet. If you prefer to reserve
your tickets by telephone, simply call
Dave Beaton
at (909) 981-0314, or
Rod Castanien
at (909) 946-5251. You will
be asked to mail the money for the tickets (check or money order) to: Dave
Beaton P.O. Box 1695 Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91729-1695 Your tickets will be
held at the Banquet the auction. If not, please contact him as soon as
possible. Also, we encourage our members to tie flies to donate for the
silent auction that Doug Spieske will be conducting. That favorite fl y you
fish with would be a great fl y to tie in various sizes. Whether you are a
beginner like me, or an experienced fl y tier, all donations will be greatly
appreciated. So why not tie up a dozen flies and call Doug Spieske today at
(909) 798-4151 to let him know you can help out. Sometimes we can’t get
involved in club activities as much as we would like due to other
commitments and time constraints. If you have a special talent that may not
even be related to fl y fishing, this would be an excellent opportunity to
participate in some other way. If you would like to donate something, please
call Rod Castanien (909) 946-5251 as soon a possible. If you can, please
bring your flies to the November 15th meeting, or as early as you can the
night of the Banquet. Also, bring your Dessert to the Banquet as early as
possible so people can view them and build up an appetite for the one they
just have to have. We already have many donated items (guided fishing trips,
discount certificates from well known fl y fishing equipment manufacturers,
items related to fl y fishing, and a few items that are not related to fl y
fi shing). Roger Moore has even donated another of his beautiful artistic fl
y creations (these items sell for $500 to $1200 on the Monterey Bay
Art Scene). So, bring your family, friends, appetite, Holiday Spirit, and
Oh, don’t forget your wallet, and let’s make this our best Banquet ever.

Dessert Auction
It’s that time of the year again! We get together to
celebrate the Holiday and have some good fellowship. I am pleased to have
been chosen to auction the “terrifi c desserts” our members so generously
donate. They always top off our evening’s meal and help make some “dough”
for the club. I’d like to ask for some help from you donors of the
delectables. It would help to get a description of your dessert in advance
so we can organize the sale and give you the recognition you all deserve for
you generosity. Please send info to Carlo Marchese at ragguy@adelphia.net.
Thanks, Carlo
