DOUG SPIESKE RECOGNIZED

For those of you who were unable to attend our January meeting, you missed Doug Spieske’s well deserved recognition by the board for his long term commitment to our club.  Doug has been actively involved in nearly every aspect since joining in 1996.  Eight plus years of dedicated volunteering!  During that time he has been in charge of  programs, outings, and has capably served as our vice president and president.  He has been actively involved in our Trout in the Classroom since 1997 and is currently the Chairman of Trout in the Classroom for the Southwest Council of the Federation of Fly Fishers.  Volunteering and involvement are two adjectives that are synonymous with Doug Spieske.  The board voted that Doug receive the Charlie Cole award.  The inscription on the plaque states “FOR DEDICATION AND UNTIRING SUPPORT TO HIS FELLOW FLY FISHERS AND THE WILD TROUT THEY PURSUE”.

I am sure you will agree that this inscription applies to Doug.  He joins the good company of Bob Slamal, Lou Fawley and Bill Reeves , all of whom are active members previously recognized.,
