A LITTLE BIT OF THIS AND THAT AND  NEW ZEALAND
April the 28th 2004
Our speaker this month is a Lifetime Member of Deep Creek Fly fishers.
He is the pre-eminent fly fishing guide and expert for Lake Skinner,  Lake Perris,  Diamond Valley Lake and the Salton Sea.
Of course, it is none other than
BOB SLAMAL.
As a boy,  Bob grew up fishing the cool recesses of Deep Creek and got to know every riffle and pool of the stream.  Switching from bait fishing, he quickly learned to stalk  wild rainbow trout casting his fly line just so to lure the fish out of their protective habitat.   Bob soon moved to Bear Creek and has fished it extensively and intensively over the years.
He counts it as his favorite  fresh water stream in Southern California.  In his youth, he acquired a taste for Montana and Wyoming on vacations with his parents.
Bob has fished from Alaska to Baja, from Florida to Norway in rivers, lakes and the ocean.
He has successfully competed in International tournaments and says with a smile "there isn't a place in the world that you can't catch a fish on a fly."
