BOB JACKLYN
Speaker for April
with a big Missouri Brown

Subject The Yellowstone Sampler.

Is there a fl y fishing Nirvana, a Mecca, or a Promised Land? A place where all the planets do come into alignment each summer for a fl y fishermen to experience? Yes, there is such a place. And if you come to our meeting this month we can show you where this place really exists. It is not far away and it is not really a secret. If you are thinking Yellowstone well you are right.

Come prepared to experience an evening with us touring the fl y fishing that is available in and around Yellowstone National Park through the seasons.
We have none other than our old friend Bob Jacklyn as our tour guide. Bob is a long time friend and past presenter to our Club. He has promised to bring along with him a presentation called “The Yellowstone Sampler.” You have yet to experience the Yellowstone if you haven’t seen this. As a bonus he is bringing along a sample of the nearby Missouri River to share with us as well.
Bob Jacklyn has been a fl y Fishing Guide and Outfitter in the Yellowstone region for over 36 years and has a full service Fly Fishing Shop in West Yellowstone. He is a world-class fl y fisherman, fl y tier, and fl y casting instructor. Bob holds a Masters Certification  as a fl y casting instructor, and sits on the FFF’s
Board of Governors for fl y casting instructions. He has been tying flies commercially since 1963 and is a past recipient of the FFF’s Buz Buszek award for his contributions to the art of fl y tying. There are few people in the country with as much in-depth knowledge of fly fishing, fl y casting, and fl y tying as Bob. He is a charter
member of the Federation of Fly Fishers, on the pro-staff for St, Croix Rods, Ross Reels, and Cortland Lines. On October 23, 2004, at the Catskill Fly Fishing
Center and Museum, Bob was inducted into the very prestigious “Fly Fishing Hall of Fame.”
Bob will also conduct a pre-meeting fl y tying demonstration in the front of the meeting room, and at the start of his “The Yellowstone Sampler” presentation he will give a short indoor demonstration / presentation on the theory of fl y casting.
This will be an evening of visual and piscatorial pleasure for everyone.
See You There. Rod Castanien
